100% natural rubber – how is it made?

Natural rubber comes from the sap of the Hevea brasiliensis tree, also known as the rubber tree. The process is both natural and sustainable:

1

Tapping the tree

Rubber farmers make a small, careful incision in the bark of the tree. From this cut, a milky liquid called latex flows out. This is the raw material for natural rubber.

2

Collecting the latex

The liquid latex is collected in small containers attached to the tree. Importantly, the tree is not cut down — it continues producing latex for many years.

3

Processing the latex

The collected latex is filtered and then processed to remove water and impurities. It is then transformed into solid rubber through a process of coagulation and drying

4

Shaping and finishing

The rubber is molded into the desired form — in this case, Fipper Slippers. After shaping, the material is finished, dyed (if needed), and prepared for use.
